Lung cancer is the most common cancer among Indian males. It accounts for a substantial portion of cancer-related deaths, Many patients are diagnosed at advanced stages, leading to high disease-specific mortality rates of 80-90%. Smoking is a major risk factor for lung cancer , However, studies indicate a significant proportion of patients are non-smokers, highlighting the role of other factors like air pollution and passive smoke exposure. Age 50–80 years, 20+ pack-years smoking history, Current smokers OR those who quit within the last 15 years, High-risk exposure (asbestos, radon, industrial fumes, heavy pollution)are at higher risk of developing lung cancer. lung cancer can be detected early by Low dose CT scan. when detected in early stage lung caners are curable.

Dr. Santhoshkumar Bandegudda is a highly skilled Surgical Oncologist with more than 11 years of surgical experience. He obtained his MBBS from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli, MS in General Surgery from University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi University, and DrNB in Surgical Oncology from Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad. He has also pursued advanced training in minimal access surgery, Cytoreduction surgery with HIPEC, PIPEC and management of advanced head and neck resection and microvascular reconstructions.
